Biography
Dr Murali Appukuttan has done his MCh (HPB) from the world’s largest liver university - The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi; he was the first one from South India (the fifth one in India). He is the first one in the Central Travancore region of Kerala state to do Live Donor Liver Transplantation (LDLT) and pediatric liver tumor resection successfully.
Dr Murali A received training in multi-visceral organ transplant, University Hospital Network (UHN) - Toronto University, Canada & multi-visceral cadaver retrieval and donor optimization – Leiden University, Netherlands.
Dr Murali A worked as Faculty for DNB (General Surgery) training. He has published several articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals on areas of interest; live donor liver transplantation, hemodynamics in transplantation, donor hepatectomies, HPB On-cosurgeries, infectious diseases after transplant surgery, Endotoxemia in transplant surgery, EHPVO, etc.
