St. Thomas Hospital's Emergency & Trauma Care Department has been renovated with modern facilities and dedicated to the public. Archdiocese Archbishop Mar Joseph Perunthottam and Apostolic Ambassador Archbishop Mar George Kocheri led the blessing of the Emergency & Trauma Care Department, which has been modernized to international standards for quick emergency care. Adv. Job Michael MLA and film actor Tiny Tom inaugurated the Emergency & Trauma Care Department. 

St. Thomas Hospital is the only NABH Accredited Emergency Department in Kottayam district.
